Half-Life 2 Problems...

Hello,

Yesterday i bought Half Life 2 PC DVD, i installed etc.. then i runned the game and reaches the game menu and just exits to desktop :| i spent a fortune on this game.. so i hope its fixable, i have readed posts that says HL2 can b runned on slower machines.. but mine isnt that slow.. here's the specs:

Intel P4 @ 2.4Ghz

768MB DDR @ 333Mhz

Geforce 2TI 64MB DDR (Downloaded last know Nvidia Drivers 66.93)

MS Windows XP PRO

What can be the problem? Someone help me ;(

Well due to the graphically intensive menu you're graphics card isn't able to handle it. I reccomend getting a better grapics card. Your processor and ram are fine though. The are ways to bypass the menu, but then you would still have to same problem once you actually got into the game.

Quite possibly the graphic's card. Unless you have nasty programs running that could be causing problems, I see no other reason as your other hardware is fine.

I hope when you say "I spent a fortune on this game" your NOT including that graphics card.

I have this card like almost 2 years and ive run every single game i know guys that play HL2 with tnt2 cards and gf2 mx and ive read that Half life 2 can be run on even slower machines.. like in the back of the cover of the game it says:

graphics card: DX 7 level graphic card

weird.

I dont Have SP1 or SP2 that can be the problem ?

My HL2, HL2DM, and CS:S all crash!
Just recently my HL2, HL2DM and my CS:S all keep crashing to my desktop without ANY window giving me a error, or anything. This upsets me cause I can play HL1 games and mods fine, but not HL2 and Source. Other games dont crash to desktop such as FarCry, Medal of Honor: Pacific Assult, Doom3, Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, UT2004 (except for its bug) and so on. Any suggestions Would help...
