I fear HL2 is gonna be delayed due to CS-source having such a huge amount of bug issues. They wont ship HL2 without having source ready for packaging :(. Not a good sign for us loyal and dedicated.

You silly bear... I don't think Valve will do such a silly thing unless they want a fanboy backlash.

The bugs are getting fixed, every game in the world has to go through similar to be ready for mass distribution, you just dont see it cause most devs do it privately, at least this way its gonna be quicker.

And your sig is annoying imho

I've just been hoping Counter-Strike's bugs were caused by Counter-Strike things, not Half-Life 2 and Source engine things...

And ya it is annoying. :x At least spell it 'meant'... but while you're in there just delete it.

Is CS:Source having high bug issues? Have you got a link?

Go look in the Counter-Strike Source forum... of course there is bugs!

Yup. HL2 is just highly anticipated so every little thing they do gets major coverage. Including bug squashing, witch every game goes through.

Ditto.

It's not as bad as people are making it out to be. Seriously

On the first night, it ran perfectly for me, and hasnt had a problem since, the bugs and issues are hardware or setup specific, different people have different PCs, its impossible for valve to make the game run perfectly on every computer on the planet, the bugs in the actual beta as a whole, are mainly cleanup and gameplay things that continue to be patched into infinity.

If you visit any forum for any new game a week after its released, and you will find hundreds of people complaining about, low fps, crashes, laggy netcode, artifiacts etc.

hl2 had its own bug fixing and play testing, very few bugs which are found in css will be found in hl2 just maybea a few engine and online related ones

Huge bug issues? Don't you mean "Some bug issues"? If Valve didn't expect to find bugs then there wouldn't be a Beta.

Yeah, of course there will be bugs. But this thread seems to be started from a point of view that there are so many bugs another HL2 delay is inevitable. I hadn't heard of any serious problems prior to this thread. As Chris D says, it probably isn't a problem.

Where is Half-Life 2? Well I assume it's sitting there done waiting to be packaged with a reliable CS:S retail edition. And IMOP CS:S has been doing outstanding the past few days with the updates, so more than likely we could hear a GOLD DATE within the next 2 weeks.

CS:S actually has very few bugs when you consider it is a beta. If it were a full game I would be pissed off, but it is relatively bug free for a beta product.

You must be such a loyal, dedicated fan, you've been part of our community for almost the whole month

I also agree your signature is retarded, the least you could do is spell it right.

Okay, not to be an ass here, but what does the time of your registration here have to do with your loyalty? I've been wandering around here for a year, and never registered until recently. Mostly because there is nothing to really discuss. We know enough facts about half life 2 to fill about 3 paragraphs.

Not a dig at ya iamaelephant, but it seems kinda stupid bro. hehe

hehe...if there's anything on earth that valve is afraid of, it is certainly not fanboy backlash :P

i've actually been shocked at how few bugs cs:s showed up with - for the most part the only ones i've encountered are in the UI and a few trying to get into servers - nothing ingame that i could tell - and the game runs like a charm - even on my crappy fx5200 i'm getting 30fps with all setting up exept aa and filtering... i'm impressed!

oh - actually i was having one ussue - i think i may be stuck using dx8 even tho i'm technically using a dx9 card (may be why its running so smooth :hmph: ) - does anyone know how to force it into dx9 mode?

I want a polished and slick game. The patience will pay off. Trust me.

As long as HL2 is bug free, a source port that's free doesn't matter. They succesfullly released CSs and they will do the smae for HL2.

It's gonna be allright.

Cs Source doesnt look that bad problems with it can be fixed very fast.

Hl2 will probably be out end of sept. Think about it beta ends, end of aug. Takes about 2 weeks for production. etc.

I have not played CS:source but the last time i checked a beta ment that it was not "the complete packaged product." Besides I'm sure CS:Source bugs are related only to the beta because It was "ported" to the Source engine and not created from the ground up. Thus, bugs may arise....Correct me if I'm wrong

Last time I checked beta was the second letter in the Greek alphabet.

its good to see them fix lists of bugs though! better now then later, and they are fixing them fairily quickly.

I've hit a few bugs, yes...by far the most annoying was kills not being counted. but that seems to have been fixed...

The FX5200 runs in DX8 mode to get acceptable frame rates. some benchmark results released 11 month ago told us this.

As for CS:S bugs, I've had one or two minor issues. At one point the "letter box" (black lines at the top and bottom) thing was still displayed even though I was in a round. It only went away after I reported the bug. And that's the only bug I've come across.

To say CS:S has "huge bug issues" is an overstatment. Yes it has bugs, but we all expected that. It's a case of so many people using it that all the bugs come out at once. And don't forget the mentality of CS fans, a lot of them seem to complain over nothing. I met one in a server yesterday angry because he wasn't getting over "20 FPS", and he seemed to think this was all Valve's fault. We asked him what Graphics Card he had and he said "A top dolla one"(sic).

"Serious Bug issues" to me would mean random crashes and disconnects all of the time.
