Halflife 2 gets a 11 from Maximum PC

In the January 2005 issue of Maximum PC they rate Halflife 2 an 11! WOW! They have a really nice spread on the game as well. Check it out. Great mag anyway

yeah...i subscribe to this mag, for $1 an issue. this lowers my opinion of the magazine...hl2 sure deserves a 9 or a 10, but an 11? gimme a ****in break, jeeze...great mag, but maybe they don't belong rating games...

No they deserve all props, they always have good arguments, good advice and the whole package. They have more place rating games than you have place rating them.

Now HL2 comes along, they think it kicks ass, if they give it a 10/10 people are gonna say, "Hey wait a sec, this got the same rating as starcraft? " So they give it something higher. To point out that this is the best game they have ever tested.

Starcraft is an old game, If it got 10 (I don't know what it really got), and then x amount of years later HL2 comes out and it is better, it should not get an 11, cause in another 5 years or whatever there are bound to be better games, what are they gonna get? a 14? That would totally screw the rating system.

That's not true. How do you know theres gonna be better games? How many games have gotten a 9.6? Hl1 did. Not very many since then. They thought the game kicked ass, and they wanted to make sure people knew it.


And I was just using starcraft as an example.

I dont own an XBox and ive never played either of the Halo games, but top marks for effort on that post, even if the nurse did help you with it.

IMO maximum PC is very professional. Ive always read their mags, and their pretty good. But what appeals to me the most about Maximum PC is their Easter Eggs loaded in every issue. It's a mag that appeals to the PC gamer NB, and if you havent read an issue or two (Looks like you havent) i suggest you go pick one up.

lol, you dont need to take me so seriously, i dont read any magazines (used to read PCgamer and Edge but i think even they are shit nowadays) so i honestly dont care how good they are as a magazine. I was just taking the piss out of their 'interesting' scoring scheme.
