I wonder if there's any way to actually PRINT in the dimensions like leght/height/width of things that you create in hammer?

I think it's a pretty basic function which most 3d-modelling programs contains and it would ease up leveldesigning in hammer a lot, because the grid is'nt always so accurate.

If you use snap to grid, it's as accurate as you can get it.

The dimensions of the object you're manipulating are usually displayed quite accurately on its perimeter and at the small info bar at the bottom of the screen.

Occasionally, when manipulating brushes, I've had Hammer not bring one side of the brush all the way to the next grid line. In those cases I vertex-manipulate the side back into place.

actually, if you look at those areaportalled windows in the coast road section (the ones that shatter in the abandoned roadside houses) there are brushes in the windows that are thinner than 1 unit. i'd love to know how valve did that

edit: turning off snap to grid doesn't seem to work on my hammer :(

Hold ALT as you move or resize something.

And I only just realized what the original poster actually wanted. I've never had access to such a feature, so I don't know why one would be needed, but if you make a 1x1x1 box, you can use the Transform (CTRL-M) dialogue box to scale it to whatever size you want.

do you meen like on the unrealed where before you make a box you type in the exact size you want to make it? i think its easyer in hammer where you can resize something to be honest.

thanks a lot, the scale and resize-thing worked for me.

My choice of word in the original message:
"I wonder if there's any way to actually PRINT in the dimensions like leght/height/width of things that you create in hammer? " was actually wrong, it was supposed to be WRITE in instead of PRINT in. Excuse my bad english ;-)
