HL problems, too many, but so similiar...
umm, i made a quick guide for common questions, asked about HL1. other members feel free to add other common questions, i'll include them in, (and if i didn't, mods will probably do so...)
new members plz read this first before asking them over and over again.
how do you Open/close a door with an NPC in HL1? (and simliar "tips")
To open a closed door with an NPC, just 'use' the NPC, then keep pushing against them so they walk into the door, and it should open. It doesn't work with every door. and it doesn't work with new versions.
where can i download/buy HL1, opposing force, blue-shift?
steam, go to www.steampowered.com
retail, i don't need to tell, you go to a shop, and then...
you could always wish christmas presents too btw...
bug in HL1 OMG!(about 99% of them)
yes, it is likely for older versions of HL1 to have a few bugs, the best answer could be to download the latest version (which is 1.1.2.0, not 1.1.1.0) from steam.
is there anyway you could play as an NPC?
if you don't know, NPC stands for non-playble characters, so the answer is no.
how do you go to third person view?
type "thirdperson" in the console, type "firstperson" to go to normal view.
Also, a very Common Question Asked for HL2, is that the NPC's don't move
my first advise to you my friend, is to buy the game, you'll have a lot of problems during game-play that would spoil the fun. sometimes they would just stand there looking at you, sometimes they won't do what they should, so it's better to buy the game.
however, you should type "ai_disable 0" in the console, but you'll have to do it every time you load the game.
remember, they don't charge you for using the search button, you won't be extra-taxed for using google, and wikipedia is a good friend of yours.
