HL2 freezes on certain saves

i purchased hl2 recently and activated and everything. However when I save sometimes it freezes on me. I cannot even return to windows, I have to restart computer. Does anyone have any ideas? thank you.

I haven't had that problem with HL2, but I've had a similar issue with Deus Ex: Invisible War. It was almost, if not completely unplayable for me. Does it run fairly smooth though?

System Specs, Do you have Steam, any error messages?

i had the same problem with Riot Act saves and there were no error messages. at one point it simply stopped loading and freezed. The only thing that helped was to load a different savegame.
