i have downloaded some maps but what do i do with them now ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Ok, sorry, but I can't help but laugh at that post.
An unnecessary amount of question marks isn't going to make your question more important to us.
Ok, put the maps into your game folder/maps.
For example, halflife2/maps, or halflife2 deathmatch/maps, or counterstrike source/maps.
The maps should have installation instructions...
EDIT: Ok here is a full example. This is where I would put HL2 Deathmatch maps:
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\maps
