Although somewhat hard to admit (being a gamer for almost all my life), most of the time when playing Half-Life 2, I get motion sickness. I've googled around and have found people who claim that something called the 'FOV' can be changed to prevent that, but I really didn't understand the process of how to change it.

Your probobly just getting dizzy from the games. Isn't there always a warning about that in the begining of game manuals? If you get it, take a rest for 5-10 minutes.

Yes, yes. I experience this type of motion sickness with other games, like Quake and Doom, so don't feel alone here.

To change the FOV, you'll first need to enable the console - which can be done by going to Options->Keyboard->Advanced...->Enable developer console. Now while ingame, type: fov [angle] - Specifies the character's Field of View (fov), i.e. the total angle which can be viewed at once. Default is 75, higher values create more of a "fish-eyed" view, lower angles create a zoomed view.

So just mess around with the numbers and see which works best. Good luck.

I love your sig joule!
And yeah, he's right. Change it!
