Hl2 question

Hey guys i was wondering if my computer will run good playing HL2.

Here are my cmoputers stats or whatever.



2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium Processer 4 with Hyper-Threading
512 Mb PC2700 DDR SDRAM memory
120 GB 5400RPM Ultra DMA hard drive
Direct X 9.0b
GeForce FX 5200 256MB AGP Video Card


And if that isnt good what should i upgrade to make it run faster?

There is a hardware forum, and there's a sticky about threads like this -- they're not allowed.

That said; your computer is well above the minimum specs (800MHz, DX6 card), however, no one knows the specific numbers. The HL2 benchmarks show that the FX5200 is a poor performer in terms of DX9, if you want to play the game with full detail, you'll want a better graphics card.

Personally, I'd wait until the game is out, see how it performs, and make an upgrade decision at that time -- new hardware is coming out very soon, and all the old(er) hardware will drop in price.

Oh, and I think you should upgrade your DirectX...

You're computers good enough to play it, altough the framerate aint gonna be that great because your graphics card is an FX5200, i upgraded from that card to my Radeon 9600 Pro. I suggest doing the same, if you have the money

Just play the Far Cry demo and see how it runs. If it runs good on that, it will probably play HL2 fine

Just throwing this out their, onboard sounds sucks, if you have it LOOSe it and get a creative Audigy 2 or higher. When Hl2 comes yout you will be glad you did.
