Looks like it's just going to be a straightforward romp through the PC version's levels (with added Deathmatch goodness), though the absence of any obvious perspective in the screenshots leaves room for a little bit of speculation.

TBH, it looks like just a way to sell the PC/X-Box phobic (but financially lucrative) Asian market the opportunity to play a brilliant game. Oh, and just because I noticed it and thought it interesting, the guy overseeing Square-Enix's Final Fantasy VII sequels / prequels said over at 1up
"Kitase: Storywise, I can't really say anything yet. But gameplaywise, I'm a big fan of the gun shooting game I'm working on right now. I really enjoy playing FPSes like Half-Life 2. If it's a non-Final Fantasy title, I'd be glad to try a gun shooting or FPS type of game."
