HL2DM Updates

My question is (and im sorry if its been asked)
does anybody know if valve will be adding more content themselves to HL2DM or did they simply release this and thats it, leave it to the modders?

Who knows... Obviously valve wanted to release this, and wants to get people working on good maps, so they released that Map Making contest and winner gets 5 grand

I think we will see in time. If there's good enough mods from mod makers, I think Valve might leave the multiplayer portion to the community. But, if they see it lacking, then maybe that's when they will take action. Who knows? But i'd rather have Valve drop some new content.

Oh, and someone needs to make The Antlion King mod... Give one person Bug Bait, and the rest try to kill him for it... Not sure if thats possible online but it would be cool...

Map making contest.

Yup, I'm sure Valve will release at least 10 maps from the contest including the winners' maps. The contest itself is pretty clever, Valve will have high quality maps from mappers who are pursuing the first prize.

I'm also pretty sure that we'll see a HL2DM map with vehicles (like a strider) before February either from Valve or from the community. :afro:
