Alright. I installed subspace continuum, from my other thread... and have tried to run it. When I run it, it keeps flashing an hourglass, as if its trying to run it... but nothing happens. I go into windows task manager, and I see the continuum.exe file, and try to close it. Every time I click on it, or even when I don't, it bounces around erratically on the page, so I can never click it to end task. Or when I do click it, I move rapidly to try to click end task, but it dissapears and thus greys out the option, and brings itself back again. No matter how fast I am, I can't seem to end this process.

This would be a bitch if it were a adware style program, but its not. Its a game i'm trying to run. Is there any way to specially close down a process that is so evasive(In this case, unpurposefully) besides just resetting the computer?

u bought it? update the game with any patches, if there arent any reinstall, and after that all i can say is bitch to the company

No, i didn't buy it. It's free, as it always has been, I believe.

So you're saying that the taskmanager window goes flying all around the screen?

Wierd.

No no no. The process in the windows task manager keeps hopping around between the other processes. No matter how I sort it, it keeps doing it. Even if I pause the refresh rate, it doesn't work.

I think it's closing itself,then loading itself immediately again, thus the reason why it keeps dissapearing and reappearing. Only way I can remedy this is by restarting the computer.

I just wish I could figure out what's causing this.

Start > Run > msconfig ---> startup/services

uncheck it at bootup. if all else fails, use adaware or another program like that.

It's not adware, its not spyware, it doesn't have a startup attached to it. It's just a game executable thats failing to initialize properly. Heh.

Oh oops misunderstood. Restart then, I Dont know how to fix the game in general. It may be a corrupted download?

It would be nice to figure out a way to end the process without having to restart all the time. Would add a useful bit of computer knowledge to my current list.

I didn't figure out how to do what I wanted, but I have figured out what the problem was, from their forums. Seems its a widespread issue.

I had to uninstall and remove Trojan hunter 4.0(my program expired anyways). That did the trick!

Continuum stopped working suddenly for me like a year ago, I think my problem was similar. Unfortunately, tech support for those guys is completely worthless, they know close to nothing about how computers work. So I've never installed it again. I know I don't have trojan hunter so who knows why it didn't work on my machine.
