This is the tale of the progress and finalization of halflife.

If valve is wanting to keep up with tradition... Then they are probably up right now... Neededing a good shave.... Drinking diet coke and eating pizza....

No really, what happend last time was they recived a email from the publisher that said it was accepted and they waited to party and release the information at their dreaded 4pm meeting....

4PM PST 7Pm Est - Only 12 more hours to wait....

They're possibly sending a release candidate to Vivendi tomorrow. Nothing special will be happening.
 
actually it was BY the 15th, which doesn't necessarily mean they are sending the RC on that date, it could have been before.
 
But either way, mayro is referring to the game going gold and it's not likely this soon.
 
am I the only one that just stopped caring when it ships.. and will just be happy when I see the mother effer on shelves the wait caused me to loose interest in stalking valve.. I just want the damned game and dont care to discuss every little happening

hl2 will be out SOON (yes you pessamist fuxers if a near complete RC is being sent out.. that means SOON) at least in my optimist glass is half full point o view :thumbs:
 
Well if Vivendi doesn't accept the copy right away (their own testing?) I doubt Valve will announce they have an RC waiting to be authorized. After all, if Vivendi does not accept it it will take even longer, thus pissing off people at another "delay" etc etc

So I should think there'll only be a GOLD announcement, not an RC note.
 
I reckon, if they're following tradition, they'll release it on its sixth anniversary in November.
 
What are the chances that VU will find the RC unexeptable for mass producion?

I'm of the opinion that they won't turn it down. Since around E3 Gabe has been saying the game is playable from end to end. So basically since E3 Valve have been bug fixing and refining it. Valve have also run the CS:S beta to weed out the major crash related bugs in the source engine.

Vivendi know the thorough testing Valve has already done. I'm just finding it hard to envision major problems with the game that would give Vivendi reason to ask for another RC. Whilst i've said before Vivendi may deliberately hold the gold copy for awhile and remain silent to reach the November date....recent information regarding Vivendi Games reported loss of $136...you'd imagine there'd be a rush to get HL2 shipped.

Yeah i remember that :D

I would take it with a pinch of salt both back then and now. Although Valve is more or less the "Man in charge", they do have obligations to others as well.

HONESTLY!!! I don´t think Valve has spent every single day from April till TODAY, not solving any problems with bugs etc!
IF the RC was sent today, I really believe it´s going gold in less than 3 days!

Well wasn't the rc suppose to be sent the 14 or 15 i can't remeber but i swear i heard it on a news somewhere either on gamespot or this site, but if my memories are correct if they did send the rc or are going to on the 15 then there is a slight possiblity that history could be repeated.

the comment was, they PLANNED to send the rc BY september 15th.

don't get your hopes up, nothing spectacular is going to happen tomorrow.

Don't you think it's strange that Valve now had a clear date, Spetember 15. So far they've usually just given estimates, like "end of this month" or "this summer". Maybe they actually do send the release candidate to Vivendi today. SPECULATE!
 
weird coincidences happen to me with the number 4, my lucky number is 4. Maybe something will happen with preload 4, maybe it will go gold on a date or time with the number 4 in it.

No one knows anything, not a dumb mod, not a dumb gamespot reviewer, I bet even Valve doesn't know when it's going to go gold, or be released.

Stop with fat jokes people. Loseing weight utterly sucks. I was Fat "290lbs" all through high school. Ive finaly gotten down to 200lbs.

The bad part isnt being fat, but finding out after the fact that skin doesnt retract all to well. Dont be haggleing a man for haveing a few extra pounds. Gabe has much better things to do than worry about his weight. Im sure its probably a factor on his mind but i can tell you this much, reading posts like that would have utteraly pissed me off when i was fat. It would have caused me to go eat more. If you want to help him out then stop with the garbage posting about his weight. I may talk about dumb stuff. I might post at 4 am after not sleeping for a few days. I WILL NEVER MAKE FUN OF SOMEONE FOR BEING OVERWEIGHT!
 
im sure gabe doesn't care if someone calls him fat. I'm sure he got much worse comments in emails around september 30th last year. Retards will be retards.
 
Acording "someone at valve" the summer "ends" 22th of Sept ;p
And the "game" whould be released "this" "summer"

Think of it this way, you can shrug stuff like that off when you are fat. The reality is even if saddam husain said to you... You are fat and need to lose weight. You would shrug it off, but later when someone important comes up to you and sas... "Hows yer diet going" or something of that nature it ends up hitting you like a ton of bricks.

Its the hole reason i lost all this weight. After i lost the first 20 lbs i saw what a differance it makes. Not in my health for i feel the same as before i lost all the weight. The differance is how people treat you.

This is the day i lost the weight:

(I went to McDonalds like i normaly used to do. As I orderd 2 dbl cheese burgers and a large fry i asked if i could snag some of the ranch for the chicken to put on their. Thats when the clerk said, the ranch is like 300 calories a container. It wont help your diet any.....

Point being at that time i wasent on a diet. I really hadent stoped to think, hey these little packet of ranch have the same calorie content as a bowl of cereal.

Since i lost the weight i have been back to the same mcdonalds and that same person still works their. I look so differnt now that she doesnt know that i am the same person. I had a benge day to rejump start my weight loss "When you eat 1500 cals a day you get starve stalls" i orderd a crap load more than i used to. All she said this time was, you must work out alot to have a body like that and eat like this.

Notice the differance? Should I have cared what a mcdonalds employee thought of me or how i ate? NO! Does this show my point? NO- What shows the point is that i was set off by a little incident like this "atleast this time for the better" Things add up over time till you finaly get that perverbial straw that brakes the camels back.
