You'd think I can atleast max this game out, but nooo. Seems like the outdoors don't like me very much. In outdoor scenes I get 19-25fps MAX. While indoor scenes get up to 60-70. What is going on here??? Adjusting ths sliders doesn't help. The only thing that shows a noticable improvement, is diasbling HDR and enabling bloom, but then that just makes my outdoor fps 25-35. Come on, it shouldn't be running this bad. I run it in 1280x1024, i tried 1024x768 and that didn't help much either.

me thinks you need more ram (2gbs) dumb dude.....i can call you dumb dude right :P ?

Yeah looks like you need another GB of RAM.

Nvidia releasing a driver 2moro, I heard the performance in going up at least 10%

:)

But how would more system ram increase the fps that much?

"I'm not happy with my performace...."

I'm sure many other men have said the exact same thing, your not alone...

Anyway, make sure your Virus thingymajig is turned off, and any other background progs as well. Man, if you're having trouble with the game, my P4 3.0/512mb/6800GT is going to have massive problems then!, running it at decent settings anyway.

anyone tried the new nvidia drivers that are supposedly optimized for oblivion??

Haha I spent like £100+ on my computer so it will be able to run Oblivion that bit better (1Gb RAM, New Heatsink - for Graphics card and CPU, better fan placement, etc). And I'm upgrading for Vista too :E

I'd suggest you lower your graphic. I know it seems like you shouldn't need to do that, but it's not all that important is it? I'd rather decent FPS than good graphics.

Tbh, I don't see a problem with constant 25-35 fps.

AMD 2000+ XP, ATI 9800 PRO, 1GB DDR
Settings: Medium

Game is running very smoothly - no hickups, 20-30 fps in more action-intense areas, 40-50 fps regular. I'm happy with perforamnce.

You need more ram. My best reccomendation is keep all your settings high, but lower the texture settings one level.

SCREENS PLZKTHX!

I'm having problems as well.

A64 3500+ (2.2GHz)
7800GT 256MB
2GB PC3200

Um, if I remember correctly, I have most sliders 3/5ths, textures high, 1280x1024, AA x2. 13-17 FPS outside, (UHG) 60+ inside. I start turning things down even more and it still doesn't help. No HDR or Bloom, also.

Jeez, seems like you'd run it fine...try the driver tomorrow, like someone in this thread already said...

Actually, I had a few extreme settings going on in the nVidia Control Panel (namely Transparent AA, AF x16 and VSync [wth]). So I turned those off and I'm now getting the FPS that Sonic is getting.

how do you even change the video settings? i dont see no *medium, high low* settings anywhere

That's because there is no "high", "medium" or "low" setting. You change the quality of each setting individually. For example, you set the slider for view distance all the way down, your graphical quality goes down and your FPS goes up.

I ran everything as low as I could and I can't even create my character it is so slow. I meet all the minimum requirements but it is still being so slow that it is just no worth playing. Please help me! What do I do? More RAM?

Well, I seem to be getting acceptable frames now. Only thing that bothers me is how bad I am at the game. I just keep dying!

why are you all complaining so much i mean its only the first day of the game. bugs will be fixed soon enough

Solution: Dance

You will be a harder target if you prance around like a fairy, think FPS

Haha, I had the same system specs and was starting to get scared. :P
