Little help please?

I just installed Half Life 2, and started playing yesterday, but I noticed something strange... Lot's of things are highlighted whitish like "Hey! Look at me!" So far I've seen health packs, those floaty camera boxes, a radio, that mini teleporter in the very beginning... lights, sprinkler systems (pic) etc... So my question is this, What the hell? and how do I get rid of it?

i dun think its a prob in the pc specs
is it tht u c like vorts washed wit oil and so shiny or something?? tht happened to me, but i jus had to ignore
