Need Some Help

OK guys, Im going to be building a system formy first time this summer. I need some help deciding on CPUs. AMD wise, Im going with the 3000 with 400FSB, paired with an Asus A7N8X deluxe mobo. Intel wise, I would go with the 2.8C 800FSB, paired with an asus P4P800 deluxe mobo. Give me your ideas about this.

The intel one is faster, You should check out some benchmark sites before you make any decisions. Dont base your purchase on forum-goers opinions.

Lol man, dont worry ive been reading benchmarks left and right for the last couple of weeks. Im not stupid like that to just ask and then buy based on a post that says "the P4"

lol Alright, Just checking. Most people here at the hardware forum just assume a particular peice of hardware is superior based on the companys name.
