I have recently purchased Half Life 2 special edition which is grrrrrrreat! (after the never ending registering etc etc.)
I have one question though, I am about to buy a new pc and will obviously want HL2 installed on it, but i have heard that you can't have ONE copy of the game registered to TWO machines. So how do i put HL2 on my new pc when it arrives? will this effect my steam account etc?? anyone who has ANY info on this please post! thanks!

As long as your not USING steam on both computers, it should be fine.

^^ Actually, as long as he isnt using steam, playing the same game, in the same server at the same time, there would be no problems.

My dad plays CSS on a Quebec server at the same time i play on WPI, and its the same steam account.

HL2 will be deleted from my old machine as soon as i get the new one. The only thing that will be worrying me is the fact that Steam will see that i have registered the game twice under different machines. I don't know how they will handle this. any suggestions?

You cant register it twice. you have a username and password dont you? for steam that is?

Simply download steam on your new computer, and sign in with that name and password.

You will have to download hl2 again, but its 100% legal, and its the way your supposed to do it.

nah thats fine...the only thing you need is to be logged onto steam on a particular computer with the relevant files to play HL2. Its not registered to the machine, just your steam account, which you can log onto on any machine with steam on.

Woah, your dad plays css. That's cool. Yeah you can use the same account but not on the same server at the same time.
