I am interested in digital photography and am contemplating buying photoshop cs. I already own FireworksMX2004 and can do a good deal of photo editing on it, however it is not designed to be a photography program and is more based around internet graphics and optimization. My question is, would it be worth spending the $270s on the academic version of photoshop cs, or should I just stick with Fireworks? Also I would like to know if there really is all THAT many things photoshop can do that Fireworks can't because I am still quite amateur, and if there are only a few neat tricks photoshop has got over fireworks I really don't mind.
Maybe there is someone out there who would like to sell me a copy of it for a cheaper price?
