Phys_slideconstraint question?

Hey all, I'm hoping someone here has some experience with slideconstraints.

I've incorporated a couple of slideconstraints in my map, but now I need one that will have a downwards axis. When I run this in game, the physbox just falls to the axis' endpoint and can't be triggered (to move). Is there any way to get it to work?

(the sdk example map doesn't help much)


And should this be impossible, is there any way to have the physbox' speed (following a slideconstraint's path) be equal on the return trip? I have an elevator attached to the constraint, and going up the speed is perfect, but on the downtrip it feels like a loose fall.
