i am applying for a graphic design job and i need to know what is a typography outline?

If you don't know about typography, then you probably shouldn't be applying for a graphic design job...

new to graphic design

hey crushenator, i am an freelance artist but i am new to graphic design. i undestand the meaning of typography. i just needed to know what is meant by typography outline.

I dont think I have ever heard the term "typography outline".

Are you sure they don't mean to outline what typography means?

Hi I am a Graphic designer and I have never heard of that term before, until now.
Did it say on the job application thingy that you needed to know about typographical outlines or was is something you were told. I think it could be just your own thoughts and feelings towards graphicdesign and typography in general.
If ii is something to do with outlines I think you can say something like type can be filled or left in outlines depending on what brief you are working on or if the typography requires it to be outlined other than av run on empty.

Hope this helps

just a thought

p.s if you would like any help on interview techniques etc let me know.

I am currehntly doing freelance work and would like to see your portfolio (digital of course)
so Private message me if you would like my email address and we can swap portfolios as its always good to gain from other peoples thoughts and feeling sof your design work

cheers

I would imagine it is an outline of typography.

Sorry. That really wasn't very helpful.

I guess it has something to do with printing your design

When you outline your typo it should be well aligned with the fill of the typo...Since these 2 are printed from different off-set plates...
So it has something to do with the alignment of these plates...Altough this is not the concern of the graphic designer. But a pre-press issue...

So I think I don't know...
