Okay you expert players may scoff at me for this question but I am at a loss. How do you put on that orange suit near the beginning of the game--Im in the lab with the bald doctor, the girl alex, and that other dude. Once the dude opens the suits glass case I move up to it and press the pick up button but nothing happens. BTW Im using cheat codes for the guns. How do I wear the suit???

using that cheat gives you the suit too. so you are screwed. you cant continue until you take the suit, but you already have it, so...

no you cant take the suit off. you have to start again and dont cheat this time. besides, you dont need a gun until later in the game than where you are now, so why did you bother to cheat at all?

There are several points in the game where you're required to pick up a new weapon to progress. You'll have the same problem at all of them.

Don't cheat. The only cheat I can think of that doesn't create unexpected problems is godmode.

Also remember that you won't find ammo for any weapon until you're at the point you're supposed to have it. So you won't find Pulse Rifle ammo until you reach the point where you have one, you won't find rockets until you're given the launcher, etc...

The only ones on that list that causes problems is the Crowbar adn the Gravity Gun I think, the rest don't stop the game.

I would have thought that Barney's crowbar and Grigori's shotgun only stop their sequences progressing, rather than preventing you from moving on. Surely you can just knock your way into the train yard without picking up that Crowbar?

I have beaten that area tones of times with out picking up the Rocket Launcher. If you already have it the scripted sequence will drop the gun.

The Pheropod, well I'm wrong on that one, you can't continue.

Edit:

I just beat the rocket launcher part again by cheating and giving me it. All that happens is the rocket launcher falls out of his hands, and the Gunship still attacks. But something funny happened at the end. The gate was closed. So I got in my buggy i turn around and blam, the gate is open, but I never went up and had the guy open it for me it just opened on its own. (I'm thinking he was killed by the Gunship?)

The suit

Father giving you the shotgun (Easy to bypass, just fire 1 shell, reload, and then you'll pick up the gun.)

Grav Gun

The weapon stripper (Because if you "impulse 101" before you pick up the gravity gun again you'll just get the normal gravity gun, and it will make the ending nearly impossible.)

Pherapods don't trip you up, just walk into the guard and the scene continues.

Don't get me wrong, cheating after you finish a game a few times is fine, but cheating takes the whole point out of it. It's like in life, you can't get bored with life and go "ok im bord LoL!!11! I gowna shoots u in teh hed. 'impulse 101' I HAS ALL TEH WEPONS!11!1!!!11 FEAR MAH 1337 SKILLZ!"

So, if you can't play through an 8 hour game because it's "Tedious" then you need some Riddilan or something, cause that's just a bunch of bullshit.

And beside that, it's much more fun to play a game w/o cheats, cause when you use cheats you're avoiding the risk. The risk is what makes games fun. If you don't take the risk you missed the point of the game.

Half life players getting philosophical about cheating is funny.

Life is serious while a game is a waste of time and shouldnt be taken seriously--its an unproductive waste of time really. Thats why it really depends on what the person likes when playing a game. Casual players really cant be bothered with stupid trifles as getting a gun in a corrdior or running around a sewer for a bloody hr.

Too much of this stuff makes you lazy, dumb, and for some fat...Thats why I play casually and downloaded halflife from a torrent website...Id have to be insane to actually buy this piddly shoot aliens in the head game. But its fun to play while waiting aimlessly once in a while.
