i bought a new pc which would be delivered soon its spec is
p4 2.8 w H/T
512mb ram
ATI X600 SE Hypermemory 256mb, 128mb vram
MS Windows media 2005

my question is will it run the game good?

please dont flame me, im really new.

also my friend upgrades his system and wants to know if it will work

It will run it okay on medium-ish settings, most likely. The video card could be better ("SE" version ATI cards are under-powered budget cards, not that great) and you could have done with another half gigabyte of RAM, but still, you should be able to run it on medium settings.

Eh, not a chance. He "upgraded" that? What exactly did he upgrade?

thanks i think its true because i got the computer for very low price... how much are 1gigabyte of ram in stores? will it work if my 512mb is 400mhz and i buy a 1gb with different speed?

he said he upgraded the ram +128mb and the vcard up from ati rage

I think its best to get exactly the same kind of RAM that you already have, theres less chance for problems that way. I used to have 512mb, when I upgraded I went back to the store I bought my computer and asked them for another 512mb stick of RAM the same kind as they one I already have.

Anyway, HL2 *will* work with 512mb of RAM, it will just take longer to load and you might not be able to use High detail textures.

around wat price? and i dont know yet if my computer have 4 ram slots
it sez 512mb 2 dimms. i guess they really made it cheap =(

how much is 1gb and 512mb stick?

and im hoping to play bf2 also =(

I don't know, you can check sites like newegg.com for RAM prices. I can't remember what I bought mine for, I think it might've been like $120 (canadian) for 512mb. I think I might've got ripped off too.

i dont think she'll be very happy if i tell her MOM LETS UPGRADE THE NEW COMPUTER!!
