Where was the release date, Lombardi and Gabe have mentioned at E3 they will be being more specific with a date, and yet again we come away with 'the summer' Im getting really tired of this crap

valve said "we hope to get hl2 into beta stage before e3, and then shortly after, have a release candidate".

Valve knows what their foot tastes like. I don't think they want to repeat that horror. I'd respect them more if they remain nebulous with HL2's release date rather than spout some date that they miss anyway.

Doug L. Said hopefully by E3 they would announce an official date. It is only got 2 days left and the wait for E3 was for nothing but new footage. There is always tomorrow but I doubt we will see what we have been waiting for.

its smart for valve to announce a release date once they get closer to completion. as far as i know, they're still polishing and working out bugs. its kind of hard to announce a release date when you're in that stage because you really dont know the exact amount of time it will take to finish that.

yah same here.
can't understand some of these angry posters who want release dates.. and then whine afterwards when the release dates are not met.

does anyone think now after what went on with HL2 that fans will get a sniff of any HL3 info when its time? i think Valve will just keep hush about all their games til they are actually ready.. its probably for the best anyway.. :|
