So i'm trying to buy Garrys mod off of Steam as a gift for a friend. Now, my computer sucks so I don't have any source games on it or anything and when I click "Purchase" on Garrys Mod it says "Garrys Mod requires that you own Source SDK Base, click OK to view purchase options for Source SDK Base". Then when I click OK it just brings me back to the main Steam page. So WTF can I do?

just buy css or hl2 along with it, they go for cheap now on steam

Sounds like a bug or outlier with regards to the Gift system.

Either buy something that would then allow you to buy GMod so you can then gift it or contact Steam Support.

I thought it was going to be an objectionable rant about how you don't want Steam.

But yeah, bug with Steam.
