Are semi-Auto weapons like the pistol capped with a speed limit. Like in hl1 they capped it so you couldnt shoot to fast. I hope its uncapped because I can be really good, like in TS with uncapped pistols. :naughty:
 
with uncapped pistols and a script you could write a stupidly fast burst fire script that went thru a whole mag in .1 of a second, so I hope not.
 
Even the ones in TS have certain limits so they can't be exploited. You'll probably find that HL2's pistol will be similar.

cant remember the exact commands, but that's what u would do.

TS is easily the best mod period.

I think it is uncapped, look at the fileplanet HL2 E3 2k4 presentation (~700mb) at the section with Father Grigori and the new corpse/howler/monkey headcrabbed zombies, see how fast Gordon shoots as it fades to black.
 
It will probably be similar to HL1 but usually it depends on how fast you can click. They will make it so it feels right, not to slow and not too amazingly fast.
 
I agree... The guns should only shoot as fast/slow as their real life counterparts!
 
Irl it would depend on your skill, and how fast your fingers are. Mine are very fast tbh :p
 
But there's still a limit when it would jam on you or smth..

Well, jams are a different matter if you're asking about how fast the thing can fire.
 
In the scene with the zombie howler monkey thing, that could just be secondary fire. If you remember, secondary fire shot faster but less accurate.

In r/l I can shoot a gun as fast as i can click the mouse button, to bad i get in trouble. They are like, keep your gun under control. I am thinking stupid newbs, just cuzz you cant fire fast and accurate doesnt mean I cant pttf.....(9mm hollow point)

and no I didnt cheat.
thing about it is... you cant show your score, or anything... :/
so its kinda pointless even saying you got a score.

Yea uhmm... I just did it cheating all the way and it came to nearly 300... I doubt your friend legitly did 30 taps a second.
 
Oh, so your saying you can shoot 8 rounds out of a deagle and because your fingers are so "fast".. Your wrist would be broken after the 3rd shot if you tryed to speed like that.
 
If you watch the part in the E3 video (new) where Gordon and Father Greg are in the cemetary, at the very end of that you can hear the user firing extremely fast.
 
If they limit it, it should be limitted to what a real pistol can do. you can shoot them pretty fast semi-auto, but there is a limit.

To some degree yes, but still no. It isn't hard to reach the "limit" on a real pistol. (or so I've heard. I have an aquaintance who's an army officer)
 
I've seen trick shooters fire off 1911s REALLY fast in semi-auto. It depends on what kind of trigger you use, the weight of the slide, and pressure of the round to increase cycling speeds. a lighter trigger that only takes a few pounds of pull to fire can be shot faster, same is true if the trigger is set up to not travel backwards at all before firing the gun as a buffer. If the slide is lighter it can cycle faster, higher pressure rounds send the works in motion faster as well.

The USP match, that seems to be the pistol this go around, would likely have these features, at least for the trigger. However I'm sure they didn't bother with any of that and just intended it to be a cool looking pistol, so I'm guessing they are going to have it work like any old semi-auto.
 
There is a mechanical limit to how fast you can physically fire a pistol. Just because you pull the trigger 500 times a second, doesn't mean you can shoot 500 rounds a second.

Not to mention if you fired that many shots that fast you're barrel would be so damn hot it would deform lol.

yes there is. but most pistols can handle anything a human can do with his finger on the trigger. However, hitting a mouse button is different form squeezing a trigger. THere is less effort in hitting the mouse, therefor you could hit it at a higher r.o.f than firing a pistol. so there is a discrepency in there and I'm not sure how valve has set up the game. we'll see.
