Simple Question...

I'm new to PC gaming and just have a question: Does half life 2 have online multiplayer? Or is it counter-strike source? or what's the deal with that? I'm confused...

I'm not sure how the packages work these days, but there is counter strike source and half life 2 deathmatch. I'm sure someone will come in shortly and explain which you get when you buy a certain package.

Okay, Half Life 2's multiplayer is seperate, which cuts file size if you ONLY want to play single player. The multiplayer is called HAlf Life 2: Deathmatch, Counter Strike Source is just a very very popular mod and the -sequel- to counter strike, same exact thing, except better graphics. The ONLY reason I dont like it.. Is because they left out the tactical shield.. -whimper- ... that thing was aweshome.. ask again if you have anymore questions. Oh, AND NO MATTER WHAT, YOU GET HALF LIFE 2 DEATHMATCH WHEN YOU GET HL2!!!! Its a fact of life people.... I think..

Leaving out the Tactical Shield was probably the best idea VALVe has ever had.

And yes, Hl2 comes with Deathmatch, and Source. Both are pretty fun.
