single player...no internet....

Hey Guys:

I got a version of Half Life 2 for xmas...it was a colllector's edition that came with a t-shirt in a bigger black box i think the price was 79 dollars......i installed it and all i seem to have is a DEMO version of HL2.....now i did not regester it cause i was not sure how it would run on my computer.....do i need to reg it to get the full version?....i like HL but Steam and the installs (HL1 and 2) both sux esp for single players wich is all i want......can anyone shed some lite on this i love the demo and finished it.....i hope the gift barer didnt pay 79 dollars for a demo version!!!!

Mikey,

To unlock the files so you can play you have to have an internet connection. You set up a Steam account, enter your CD key and it unlocks the files and downloads the updates. Since you posted this question on the forum you must have some kind of internet access....a friend with DSL, a 56k dialup, anything?
