im hoping that you can just pop the CD into a stereo and get it but then the soundtrack in the gold pack is pointless. probably not

Just download it from a file sharing network. If you own HL2, I don't think it's illegal. Even if it is, I'm going to download it. I've owned this game for over a year now, that includes the music that comes with it.

I'm hoping that too. If it comes with multiple cd's, then one may be designated for soundtracks and sound effects, and in theory that could work. As for DVD's therein lies the problem (as well as for anyone that buys it off Steam, minus the gold pack).

I'm sure you could unpack the files and burn them to a cd, but it would be nice to have something official.

But there is no need to download if you own the game. Just extract the files.

They're encrypted right now, and thus can't be used. He could extract them eaily enough, they just won't play.

Can anyone tell me the total length of the soundtrack? Mine arrived today and track 2 has a really abrupt ending that sounds like it's being cut off at about 1:43.

Mine sounds that way too, I was going to ask the same thing soon. Now I think it's probably supposed to be that way if yours does it too.
