Steam registration

This is what happened:

I installed the HL2 with the 5 CDs. Then, I double clicked the game and steam came up. I clicked on "register a game..." and did what it should.

After that, I got the reciep for the registering to my account. But it won't show HL2 on my games to play...

I tryed write to reach Valve Support, no answer... So, I'm kind of really pissed off with that. I wonder if that happened with other guys out there that could help me out.

Have you tried double clicking directly on the Half Life 2 icon? When I do that it doesn't bring up Steam or the list of games.. it just says "Preparing to Play Half Life 2".

Perhaps once you do that it will show up in the list? I dunno, but you don't have to run it through Steam. Steam will start automatically when you start Half Life 2.

mm not sure how to help now that hl2 is bound to your steam account you could try backung up the gcfs in your steamapps folder and then reinstalling steam
that might help it
