Steam when Half-Life 2 is released?

When Half-Life 2 is released in less than 24 hours!!!(hopefully), are we going to have to download anymore files to get the game to work, and also, is steam going to run slow with all the people trying to play game once it is released? Im just curious what would happen whenit comes out

basically, you will get steam on the CD and, yes it will run slow, i would have thought if not crash, as everone connects, but 'im sure' valve have taken that into consideration the vast numbers connecting 2moz!!

You will have to download just under a meg of files to de-encrypt the files on the CD allowing you to install!

Ok I already brought it through steam(silver package) so all you are saying that we have the game to its fullest it just not unlocked then.

that would be correct, you are ready to go 2moz, when you just download the last few bits to de-encrypt the files allowing you to play it, and recieve your unlocking key.

You will probably have to download some .exe's to make the game work and that's it!
