I had to copy all of my Steam files from one hard drive to another because the drive i origonaly installed it on is failing. The copy worked fine and steam opens form the right hard drive but it loads games from the one that is going to be replaced soon. The games (counter strike espicaly) run horable becuase as it load s information from the HD the game sslow down every three seconds or so. Does anyone know of a file that i can edit in steam that will tell it where to load games from?

Delete clientregistry.blob in newdrive\steam and run steam again. Give steam some time to create the new file and it will run fine.

TYVM. I almost resorted to finding a program that could edit .blob files. but i dont know what the heck a .blob really is or if thier is any such editors for one. At any rate i just ahve to get my computer back online.
