Just now in Tech we had to produce a paper tower to hold so much weight. Given 10 peices of A4 paper, 4 straws and a stick of glue we proceeded to make it.

It collapsed after 1 kilo (the best held 6.1 kilos) due to our terrible building techniques. All four legs were at bizzare angles. Anyway I took the liberty of taking some photos.

Photo 2: yay a Kilo

couldn't you have just layed the paper down on the table flat?

Then it could hold all the weight the table could. ;)

There was probably some sort of height requirment.

Oh, I though so.

My idea would be to easy. :D

Hehe the record weight on those was 6.6Kg....we only got 1.2 or so. :(

Meh it was stupid anyway and none of those others are |337 HL modders. Wait i just tried to pimp my non-|337 skillz. Damn i did it again.

It was 53cm till it collapsed. Sticking the legs on proved easy enough...its just that they wern't straight... :(
Then there was nick's failed waffer thingy...

It did good holding 1 kilo by the looks of that, if you'd used just one 'tube' design with multiple inner 'tubes' it would have held much much more, as long as the weight was placed in the centre.

We used to do a lot of stuff like that in GNVQ Engineering at school.

I build a paper bridge once, well.... me and some others for school, it held 2.4 kgs or something in that area. Which made it the strongest bridge of the class :)
Not bad for something that was 40 g

And if you want to know: no, I haven't sold the movierights of this amazing story yet.

We do the bridge next has a minimum of 50cms across I'm unsure of the other details.

Btw who reckons Fragbait0 looks really evil in that first pic?

/edit

When we get to build with wood it will be more precise and not to mention deadly.

Yeah that's probably true Pobz. This had already been decided upon maybe we'll do that next time. Interesting is that ours is the closest to something you'd see in real life. The others are all weird 4-silos-taped and tripod arangments. Meh.

I think we do a bridge a couple of weeks after the holidays. They have to crams us with more theroy first. Really advanced stuff as you can see in the first pic...."What is technology?". Argh.

If you want to know the paper etc did not taste good and upon reflection im not sure why i ate it.

EDIT: I can't spell and i know it. Don't tell me because im not going to correct it.

Sorry but...You are from Australia...Yet, you don't look like the people off neighbours. Whats going on? I really don't want to weird or anything, but the person who I'm sure you said is fragbait looks photoshopped. Into the picture...especially the hair :o

Heh...In school we went to a D&T competition type thing between schools and we had to build towers, bridges and other such things out of paper. It was quite fun and some fo the things were quite inventive. We also had to make a container(Out of paper) for an egg that would be dropped from a great height...Obviously the egg had to remain intact.

Rolfmao it must be the angle Mr Button took the picture. On the other hand he does need a haircut.

btw don't remind me of Neighbors that show is a bunch of scripted BS. Not all of us Aussies are good natured people either.

/edit I've done the egg in a box before. All you had to do was use wet paper to cushion the egg. You then proceeded to throw it off a 2 story building.

Can I ask which school that is? I'm in Adelaide too, and no, I don't need a new target to stalk :P

Lol. Yeah I do need a haircut. But then for the next two weeks im not going to be outside anyway meh.

leadfish: that'd be The Heights or as we know it "the pov-arsed place of eternal suffering and doom". Well that's what im gonna call it now. Ill find something more crushing later.

OKay the pictures kyo took have finally dribbled through my dial-up...

Kyo....ummm dude find a tripod or switch to decaf cos those are rather blurred....
Who put the glow effect on pic number 1? :D
Those would be the second best PCs in the school. Shit in other words.
P3 933MHz with 256mb ram but then they are running win2k and the network software...LAG! My old P1 goes faster....

BTW where are the pictures of the sluts or the drug deals? :)
I saw one dude sitting in english once, a packet of cigs just hanging out his jeans...rofl.

From one of the pics you can see it was taken in 03 (rather old pics)

I accidently set my camera to long exposure so thats why they looks all blurry.

/edit KagePrototype cool I look like the founder of ID software.

/edit 2 What glow effect? I uploaded them straight from Mr Button's folder.

Lol. Your group makes me laugh for some reason. You all look so enthusiastic. Paper is ghey.

BTW I'm awesome.

Well for one Nicks a loony, so is Hoskin. I on the other hand couldn't stop laughing at something Hoskin said something about Tony man handling pipes.
