Turok 3 (PS3 screens)

I loved the first Turoc. The second not so much. Apparently it's also coming out for the 360.

Never played any of them, but it looks and sounds promising from what I've read. It'll be interesting to see how they handle the big dinos as opposed to King Kong....

ummm where's turok? looks great but kinda generic cuz most of the turok games have a certain look
 
I love how the one guy is going for the silent takedown with his knife, while his buddy is trudging through the jungle with a friggin' machinegun. :P


The video game industry is severely lacking in good dinosaur games.

What tosh - one of the pics alone showed that there's going to be some bloody great big dinosaurs that look mean as hell.


I was wondering where Turoc was too, Sterny. I'm sure he'll be back for some bow and arrow goodness in the finished game - he is the protagonist after all.

If the finished game can run well with dino's the size of the two in the first pic, it could be very sweet. Turning a huge t-rex into a pincushion would be excellent fun :) It also looks like the t-rex is hunting the smaller raptor. If all the dinosaurs had their own routines and went hunting/grazing etc it would be very cool.
 
Turok 1 was the shit. I heard Turok 2 wasn't so great.

I wish it was coming to a system I plan on getting but oh well.
 
turok 2 wasnt that bad ..some of the weapons were kinda cool ..but kinda funny how little Turok the video game resembles the original turok

And how! Problem is, they're difficult to make into good enemies - they can only have melee attacks, thus they have to be stupidly nimble and disproportionately tough. They just rarely feel all that great to fight against.
But yeah, if they can pull it off, then hell yeah, no complaints here.

Hahaha. I'll always remember the intro where that damned Acclaim iguana gets taken down by turok.
 
The first Turoc doesn't seem that far removed from those pics (i've never read any Turoc comics, though).

I much prefered the bright and colourful look of the original to the dark and gritty looks of no.2. This latest installment seems to retain the darker look :/ - but kinda makes up for it with HUGE dino's :)

I read the first line of Warbie's first post and neglected to actually finish reading the thread title. Thought it was 360-only.

I definitely plan on getting a PS3.

pshhh...like I'D miss out on an MGS game or a DMC game.

Not interested. Turok 1 was okay but that's only because it was fresh and the gameplay felt good with the N64 and controller. Not once since I played the original did I think to myself, "I really need to play more Turok." I wouldn't touch a PS3 if someone had a gun to my head.
 
I loved Turok 1 on the N64. Played it so much :D
Never played number 2 but the multiplayer only game (turok wars or whatever it was called) sucked.
I hope this is like the first one :)

I couldn't have said it any better, except that I would own a PS3 if it was practically free, but thats pretty far from reality - however, Turok 3 is coming to the Xbox360 as well.

Couldn't care less about the Turok games myself. The main reason Turok was any good was because it was one of the first times we could play a FPS on a console.

A FPS fan myself, I pre-ordered Turok 2 - because with all the hype, I was led to believe Turok 2 would be great. I was sadly mistaken. What a waste of money. Money would have been better spent donating it to charity - which is exactly what Acclaim got from me that time. Once a company releases an average game, I will never consider their games noteworthy again, unless it receives rave reviews.

I don't play average games. I only play exceptional games. Why play an average game when I can play an excellent game???
 
Looks pretty cool. I'll pick up the 360 version. If it's any good, that is.
 
I've been spelling it wrong all this time :/

Turok 2 and Turok Wars (I made the mistake of buying both :() were no where near as good as the first. The hype wasn't justified.

Wars was fairly bad, but 2 was awesome. The bosses and that spaceship level near the end were fantastic.
 
Yeh Turok wars sucked bad.
I didn't think they were going to be making any more of these Turok games... thought acclaim went tits up.
 
I was going to post about this buy i thought it wasnt worth it. Doesnt look on par with all the other stuff iv seen.
 
I remember fondly playing through Turok Evolution in one night whilst drunk. That was a good day. Apart from that, I've always fnd the series quite a bore.
 
Never played Turok 1 but I got the 2nd one AND I LOVED IT.

The other day I was showing my cousin a N64 emulator for the pc....Checked out Turok 3 cuz I never had the chance. It sucked balls. Once I seen a big flying SWAT Vehicile I just said, "This is retarded" and turned it off. Turned out Pokemon Stadium was more fun.

Turok 3 had a nice name though: Shadow of Oblivion. Cool thing is that "Shadow of Oblivion" is the master cheat code in Turok 2.
Seen the title and was thinking "I hope they ment Turok"...thankfully I was right.

The Turok 2 storyline was not the best thing in the world but it gave them a great reason for the monsters they made. The monsters in Turok 2 just kicked all ass. Now being able to see gigantic dinasours n shit...this game well I want it.

I loooooved Turok. I could never beat them without cheat codes, lol. They were too hard!

I remember getting the litte N64 expansion pack just for Turok 2. It had kick ass graphics.

Cerebral Bore was mad fun, especially in multiplayer.. getting fools with the bore just pissed em off.

They over did the bore with that one Turok release for PS2, can't recall the name. But, it just shoots several bores at once, immediately exploding the victims head upon contactt -that's just lame, the one from Turok 2 was best because it actually took time to dig into the victims head and then exploded.
 
I remember those games I had em for N64...they were bad ass...new one probably wont be as good (gameplay wise)
 
I didn't enjoy the story that much of either of the games, but I can't tell you how many hours I poured into that game with cheats on, just experimenting with all of the great weapons on all the different enemies, hearing the grunts in #1 on the first level scream. OMG it was so good. The third sucked balls though.

I hope they steer back towards #2 and away from #3 a lot though.
 
That big dino is big :O

Loved Turok and Turok 2, never got a chance to play the later ones but this looks kinda cool :D
 
it is all about the graphix people,
this game is suck since the first game of the seriess
