If you wish to start from any chapter you want go to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<Account name>\half-life 2\hl2\cfg , open up config.cfg (with notepad) then go down to sv_unlockedchapters (MAX 15), or alternativly type sv_unlockedchapters "15" in your console. Start new game and pick a chapter.
