Updates to the Source Engine have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Fixed problem users with ATI cards were experiencing with overly shiny cube maps

I hope by "ATI cards" they mean "ATI and Nvidia cards".

There were actually two separate bugs - one affecting only ATI cards (thus the release note), but also one affecting both gfx card families. Both bugs were fixed with the release.
