video mode not suported

i was messing around in the video modes in hl2 and i set it to widescreen 16:9 and then i got a black screen and a message pops up and says that the video mode is not suported :frown: what do i do?

Your Video Card/Monitor does not support it. Have you pressed ctrl+alt+del to exit game? Or Windows Logo on your keyboard? If u did what happens?
