As the title says, the Vive Developer Edition has begun to make its way into the hands of developers. Chet Faliszek said in a Steam Community post that the first wave of shipments will include "a wide range of developers from major movie studios, triple A developers, to small indie teams working on their first title."

In the box is:
  1. A Headset
  2. Two Light House Base Stations
  3. Two Wireless SteamVR Controllers
  4. Cables
  5. Instructions
And we're already getting our first glimpses of the dev kit via some independent developers. Below is a collection of media from various sources.

The next couple of waves of dev kit shipments will continue through this spring and summer. The consumer editions of the HTC Vive, the controllers, and the lighthouse base stations are slated for release near the end of this year.

Love how the instruction Manuel is in the style of those 2.5D Bendy people from the Portal 2 trailers. I'm also intrigued on what major movie studios got there hands on a developer kit, and what they plan to create for VR. Exciting times for sure!

(still) looking forward to the consumer versions of the new generation of VR. Hopefully I won't have to upgrade my graphics card for it.
