Are you going "back" after reading them? Unless it's been awhile, you're just probably seeing it cached. After a refresh they should be un-highlighted.

Also, the ads by google can be influenced by what it says on the page. So, if we're talking about drugs, it'll have ads saying 'Get off of drugs!' or more strangely, '20 pounds of manure!' Almost always there will be a HL2 ad somewhere for HL2 FREE LOL!
Also, there are some low fat food ads going around now because of that fast food thread.
