I just got the Logitech Z-5300 speaker set that are rated at 260 watts RMS. This has been a big wattage jump from an old 60 watt set that I had before.
I hate wasting electricity and I was wondering just how much electricity is being used when the speaker volume is not cranked up. So my question is thus: do speakers use more electricity the louder they are set?
Or in other words can I let my speaker idle at low volume (I like to keep tunes on, at low volume, before and during I sleep) and not be worried that the entire 260 watts of electricity is being wasted.
