White Pixelation in Episode1

Hi guys hoping you can help

Im running a radeon 9800 XT with the catalyst 6.5 driver recently installed. Ive updated Direct X and yet I still seem to get a white pixelation in the background of episode 1.

It's really annoying and gets worse when I turn my grapics settings from high to low, which I found strange. Ive verified the integrity of the games cache, yet its still pixelating.

Ive attahced a screen shot so you can see.

Any suggestions would be helpful

the white pixelated things are called artifacts and it means your video card is overheating

Ok, thanks for your reply.

I'm guessing that if my graphics card is overheating then I need to install another fan into my tower in order to cool it down?

is there anyway I can check the temperature of the card? what should it be operating at?

You can use Everest (Link) to monitor your temperature.
