Why wont doom 3 save my settings.

I just got a new set up... and Im trying doom 3 out on it, i cant seem to get the res. and the AA to stay, it keeps going back to 640x( dont remember the number) and the AA keeps going back "off". WTF is wrong with this shit?

Doom 3 is gay. It only saves settings for people who it wants to be gay with. Obviously your to ugly for even a gay to like you.

Now i come in here and i just get blasted for every thing i say... I just want some help, maybe some one else was having or had the problem and had a solution. Make sure you're choosing an AA setting that's compatible with your video card. If you choose one that doesn't work none of the settings that you changed when you set the AA will save. At least, that's what seems to have happened to me last time I played it.

I had the same problem, so I just did them seperately.

An alternative problem occurs when put the Detail settings to 'ultra'

Find your doom3 config, set it up manually, then set the config file to "read only".
If the settings are possible with your hardware, doom3 should then be forced to use them.

Ok on a serious note.
If you have Vista, then you might be disallowing Doom 3 to write to the file that stores the settings info. My guess is the file is read only or you don't have the proper permissions to modify the file.

This place does seem to have turned into some kind of bastard child of 4chan recently. It's surprising how quickly and how deeply it has decended. Hopefully it's just a fad.

To try and stay on topic though, the only thing I can think of (but has already beeen mentioned) is that your settings files are set to read only.

We've managed in keeping it in the Image Dump for now.

I would have said the same things some other people said, but if you still haven't got it to work, you can create an auto executable text file with your settings. Let me know if you don't know how and want to try it.

i dont come here that often anymore because of this. and im talking almost 3 years now i havent been coming. i usually come to the hardware section, where theres still some decent guys hanging out who always lend a helping hand. otherwise i just dont bother here.
