Will my shitty computer run HL2?

What setting could I run it at, and what fps should I expect?

At medium settings in 800x600, you can expect it to run pretty smoothly.

I have a P4 2.6c 800mhz fsb with 1 gb dual pc 3200 ram and a Geforce FX 5600 on a SATA hard drive.

I can run it on with all details on MAX at an average 45 fps.

What? My 9600 pro runs on high settings with average of about 50 fps at 1024 by 768. You definately should be able to do better.

That doesn't really help me, your specs are a lot different from mine...

gragland, you can probably run the game on 1024X768 with medium detail and no AA and AF and get decent FPS.

I'm running it on an AthlonXP 1800, 512 MB PC2700, 64 MB GF3 Ti 200, and it runs pretty smooth with most settings on low and medium texture quality.

1280mb PC2100 RAM
9700 Pro 128mb

Runs fine, mostly in the 50-80 range, sometimes less, sometimes over 100; the HL2 test gave me 75fps.

The settings automatically selected for me worked fine: most stuff on high at 1024x768, AA & AF off. I turned on AAx4 after a while and don't seem to have suffered any noticeable FPS loss.

My guess is you should be able to run fine, especially if you are willing to drop down to 800x600 or lower other settings, though it may well not be necessary.

well my laptop runs the game smoothly at 1400x1050 and textures at mid, my specs are

p41.7
geforce 4 440 go 32mb
256mb ddr ram
windows 2k sp4
5400rpm HD

I get about 40-60 fps
