it seems that vortigarts are helping the alliance for some reason in the binks and screenshots of hl2.

in the "Yep, it is (only) a 90! (PC Gameplay) scans included." thread, the belgian magazine stated "Dr Breem seems to be a former collegue of Gordon from Black Mesa. He has teamed up with Xen aliens and is now controlling the world in nazi-fashion."

if the xen aliens are fighting the Alliance, why are vortigarts helping Alliance scientists? And why were they fighting gordan in hl1 and now helping him in hl2. Maybe some of them got tired of being xen slaves? Post your specualtion below.

i really dont know...thats why they are gonna give us the game so we can unravel these as we go!

Most probably is the theory that nihlathan(sp) had them enslaved, makes sense to me because they don't seem to have the shackles in hl2. So they were probably freed and joined your side.
