To show its appreciation for the Rainbow Six community, Ubisoft has announced free downloads of a brand new, previously unreleased Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six PC game, called Iron Wrath. Available exclusively through GameSpy.com (link TBD), Iron Wrath is the second mission pack to the popular Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield PC game.
A recent closed beta test with TeamWarFare.com’s Raven Shield admin team, resulted in the following conclusions from the Beta Team:

Very nicely done. This expansion pack has made leaps and bounds over Athena Sword, and will be a breath of fresh air to an increasingly bored RVS community. The maps are great and perfect for competition play due to their size and depth. While the new weapons don’t add much to the overall pack, the maps and new and creative game types definitely do. TeamWarfare is very pleased with this expansion pack, and looks forward for the retail version so we can add ~5 new ladders to our Raven Shield lineup.

Thank you for the opportunity to test this expansion pack out. We now have a good feel for the new changes, and will anxiously await the release. I hope our feedback has been helpful.

:dozey: I don't quite understand you. To sign up for a basic free Gamespy account is simply free . That is all you need to download that 'free' expansion.

Of course it's not free.
I mean you have to take the time to download it. That time is what you are paying. Nothing is free becuase Time, even if it is picoseconds(Like one billionth of a second) is still time and it could be what you pay.

It's free for the end user you, or about as free as a product released over the internet is. If you're talking about bandwidth, well did you expect them to just mail you a burned copy? Or maybe you're referring to Gamespy, I'm sure they had to pay to get exclusive hosting. Or more likely you assumed that you had to purchase a subscription, but it's just a free download (even if it did require you to purchase a subscription I'm sure the download would appear on other sites soon).

People get something for nothing and they still complain! Whadya want, a cream cake too?

edit: thanks ubi :)

It's awful that UBI don't come round while you're sleeping and install the update for you...

Bastards...

Damn maybe I should install my Raven Shield & Athena Sword after all. I never thought I'd enjoy it (doubt it's my type of game). Bought a Deluxe Pack version of RS for 2$ & a friend bought AS as a surprise for 1$ :E All games should cost like that. And they were not faulty or used or anything :D
