How do you turn of the crosshair compleatly in HL2? and in HL1?

I seem to have turned one or more of the gfx settings to high, so now HL2 crashes when the menu background finishes loading.....Isn't there some command i can write in the launch options or inn a file in the HL2 folder that defaults the gfx settings or sets it lower? ECC, ECC-REG or SO-DIMM?

Ok thank you, very helpfull. But. now i wounder what product form factor(or similar, only know the word i norwegian). It says: ECC/ECC-REG/SO-DIMM. In the program it says i under mobo physical info that i have 3 DIMM RAM slots. Does this mean i have to buy SO-DIMM?

no, the probleme is to get HL2 running. not HL2dm :P There is a gamedata.txt file in the HL2 directory, but not in the hl2dm directory, nor in any other steam game folder.

I think HL is kindo easy. Now im compleating the game on hard without crosshair and autoaim. The hud dissapaired because of some bug, and then came back again the next time i played it. Is there a console command to make the hud disappaire? Since, its more tense playing with no hud.
