Hello all,
While looking at bink videos I saw references to using pixel shaders for rendering (I'm assuming how it's displayed on screen?).
What I'd like to know is if it's possible use these shaders within the source engine to playback bink videos.
I don't know how the shaders work for...
The textures seem a little off somehow. I guess it's just the brightness/reflectivity of them, doesn't seem to fit the look of metal you'd see near a reactor. Too clean maybe.
Anywho, I like it. Pretty bright for the lack of sources of light, but it is a beta afterall. Good job so far.
I think the easiest way is to just go into spec, fly way up, look down, and hit f5 or whatever you screenshot key is.
Then just open up your image editor of choice and resize/crop it the way you want it to look.
Load the map you want to play. Set sv_lan 1. Wait for people to join.
Assuming your router is set up to allow traffic to come into your pc then that's all you really have to do.
I saw a thread that had similar pictures. There was a leak that wasn't caught at first and RAD still compiled but with odd shadows like that.
Fix all your errors first and try again.
You can make the map as a prop and then add it into the map. The biggest problems I can see with this is that you'll get improper lighting, and bad optimization since the whole thing will always be rendered.
