I highly doubt I have any malware; again, this computer has not been connected to the internet while running Windows for quite some time. Dust is the far more likely explanation. This computer has taken quite a beating over the two years I've had it and I haven't always been able to secure the...
Hm, I haven't downloaded any programs and the latest video card driver I downloaded was the one that fixed the stuttering bug and sped everything up. The game files themselves don't seem to have any fragmentation and I doubt I have any files I'm not using that can be deleted.
I'm still at a...
I'm having some severe frame rate issues. HL2 itself isn't bad (only a few areas are unplayable and only from certain vantage points), but the Lost Coast "stress test" reported an average rate of 16 fps.
I'm using the same computer I've always used and nothing's changed, but the performance...
Ah, no wonder they act all excited when you show up. Stupid useless allies do I have to do everything myself around here?
And: I'm not going crazy after all, then. So they actually do stop inflicting damage until I show up. Heh.
Certainly ruins the end of episode 2, though. There's got to be a...
Whenever a group of RPG-armed rebels are fighting a strider (say, just outside the overwatch nexus), it seems that they're more or less useless— there's several of them, and they can pummel a strider repeatedly with missiles, but it seems that the striders never die until I shoot them myself...
I've had the exact problem— game lags to unplayable crawl when facing the direction of the citadel even if you can't see it (but it's fine on exclusively underground maps that have no citadel at all) and is fine everywhere else.
Try updating the driver for your video card. That's what worked...
Question regarding account security and whatnot—
If someone gets hold of my Steam password, logs into my account, and downloads and plays the games registered therein, but I figure out what's happening and change my password before the intruder does, have I successfully reclaimed my account...
I'd thought the "apron" was part of the dam. Black Mesa East is quite literally a stone's throw from it, if you had the gravity gun and could find a stone.
In Dr. Kliener's lab, you will find a seismograph (?) printing a readout, only to send the printed paper directly into a rubbish bin.
When you visit his lab for the first time in "A Red Letter Day," he has two big tanks filled with some bubbly reddish liquid. When you go there again in...
-On multiple occasions, Eli has entered his "typing" animation in Black Mesa East when he's nowhere near a keyboard.
-Lamarr kinda "flashes" for a second in Kliener's lab; a sort of solid box appears over her for about 1 frame.
-On one occasion, the dropship that deposits troops when you...
O.o I've got to get that mod!
And although you can't actually drive the APC, it suggests that they do have the same controls. I don't use most of the default set; alt-turbo and control-brake are the controls I normally use on the buggy. (And tab-use.)
I was playing Point Insertion, and I had just walked into the flat where the citizen by the window gets startled and says: "I thought you were a cop." After a few moments, an APC pulls up outside, and several CPs run by. At that point, I noclipped to the street outside. Having done so, I found...
I'm 21, so my parents are hardly a factor.
However, I bought the orange box for my just-turned-13 sister, so they're certainly bound to form opinions on *her* playing it.
The verdict: Mom really doesn't care. Dad sometimes watches and appears to enjoy it, though he doesn't really play...
Bring a barrel to stand on.
Or alternatively, it might be easier to use the supply crate floating in the valve room nearby, since it doesn't roll. Just make sure not to break the crate open until after you've used it as a stepping block!
