Damn, I guess it's time to forget about brushes and learn some 3dsmax-type application... question: do models in UDK need to be UV-mapped or can they be textured some other, simplier way?
edit - yeah, sure, off-topic, but it's a short one ;)
Hey, as far as I know, Source Engine 2 was used in Episode One (base source engine 2.gcf!) and Source Engine 2007 was used in Episode Two. Thus the next version of Source Engine shall be either 4 or 2011 ;)
Of course Episode Three won't be a PC exclusive. When it's going to be released, it will be for the PC, Xbox 360 and Mac at the least. I can't see it happening otherwise - didn't L4D get releases for PC and Xbox simultaneously? Well, Valve has Apple users to take care of now!
I think I recall an interview from quite a while ago in which someone from Valve said Episode Three is an ambitious project, thus it will take longer to finish and release. Ambitious, how? New technology? Significant Source Engine update? Innovative gameplay? Who knows. It's not the right thread...
I bet the upcoming episode will simply be longer or introduce some new technology. It's been a while since Valve made any significant innovations, right?
Where are the "Half-Life 3" people coming from? I don't get the reasoning behind the desperate "we want hl3" cry. What would it change? I'm confused beyond belief :P
Since Portal is a part of the Half-Life universe, playing Portal 2 will bring some revelations regarding the storyline, thus making the wait for Episode Three a tiny bit less painful.
