You don't open it really.
You need to use the grav gun to push the cars over the antlion nests. Stop them coming and the action will move on to the roadblock.
The new T models are indeed darker. Looks wise, nothing great but I don't care that much. My only concern is that they now look like CT's from certain angles and lighting which has caused one too many TK's for my liking.
I like the lack of choice of models now as it gives a clear seperation...
I just completed the game. It really was amazing. Yes, it did end a little abruptly...I was expecting a little bit more to go when Alyx said something about getting out of there but of course, that was just a decoy. The ending wasn't bad, it just wasn't as mind-blowing as the rest of the game...
Wow, I am surprised how people are so unclear about this.
You're stripped of your weapons. They are all vapourised but because of the technology in the Gravity gun, the machine can't handle it so doesn't vapourise it. Instead, it accidently malfunctions and in some way alters the way the gun...
I have no complaints about the linear nature of Half-life 2. I can pretty much gaurentee that HL2 would be less absorbing if you could do what you want. It would be fine if you had cut-scenes to fill you in on the story but that just isn't Half-life.
You have to appreciate the efforts of...
Honestly, remake the complex!! It'll be a great tribute to Goldeneye and the fantastic multiplayer of Perfect Dark. And I'd pay (a small amount) to see either game remade in Source. It wouldn't be the same but it'd be next-gen mixed with nostalgia and that can't be bad.
Gore wise, HL1 was more gorey in respect of blowing peoples bodies in small bits. HL2 focuses more on the ragdoll reactions this time altho I'm sure it's not for the sake of being less gory.
The original Half-life spawned many a mod which help cement it's place as arguably one of the best games of all time. Counter-Strike, for instance would not exist today if it wasn't for this openess to modding.
HL2 will continue this trend with perhaps even greater results given the...
3 Generations old? What have you been smoking? My standard 9600 does over 20fps on high.
Some people needs the odd reality check now and then. Here is yours.
I've played the demo and can understand why people have reservations. I am a little tired of it already but then as soon as I stop playing it, I start feeling urges to go back and play. To me, that's the sign of a great game. It's got me hooked.
A friend downloaded the game on it's release...
I got a standard 9600 256mb and it runs the demo fairly well on high settings. You do get the odd stutter in the action at 1024x768 with the recommended settings. It can actually still run smoothly with anti-aliasing up to x4 but again, scenes of great action do slow it down a bit.
I'm...
Well done mate!! I, like many others adored Goldeneye and I've often considered rebuilding a map in a new SDK. Tried with UnrealEd 2 and got bored. I'm really after the Complex!! That in source would be amazing.
Anyway, smashing job!!
Ha! On Novemeber 16th, there will be a Worldwide simultaneous release from the US to Europe to Asia and to Africa. Heck even outer space!!*
*Except Canada.
It's wierd but since about I first heard about Half-life 2 way back in July 2003, I've really wanted this game. My desire's intensified so much in April this year that I joined this forum and became a fairly active contributor to the many debates had over the game. All I wanted to do was get my...
