Got the HL pack along with Doom3 when it came out, never played any game before. :| Needless to say, I finished HL in a few sittings then went to CS. Got wrecked. Few days later had my first good run with the Galil. Sorta picked it up in about a week, was able to stand my own. CSS beta came out...

Valve said there really is no need to go higher than 66, plus in some cases 100 causes strange problems. Doors open wierd, guns fire too fast.

drop the dxlevel to 81, does it happen there?

If thats the case then he shouldnt have the game, or he's not old enough. Last thing CS needs is more kids screaming. Though its not like there is alot of blood in CS anyway... you could always turn decals off (for no blood splats) and turn off the violence settings for no blood spurts.

I listen very carefully to sound, even slight noises can give somebody away, giving you the chance to shoot before even coming around the corner.

you might get choke with very high updaterates and cmdrates, set it to 100. If you choke, drop it a bit. Experiment with this and rate until you have the settings as high as possible with no choke or problems.

bug, go upto a hostage and look at his head, look away and twitch towards his head again. usually if your quick enough (and timed it right) you'll hit the edge of his head without actually damaging him. it's fairly easy to do. unless you hear the fabled dink, or the sound of the persons skull...

mmm, thats not the best way to do it. crouch, THEN jump and you'll get on boxes and stuff that are about as high as your head. you can even jump onto other players without them needing to crouch. it's becomes second nature after a while, but a script isnt hard to make.

I have it, played it for a few hours. Its nothing like Doom3, the action is non stop, AI seems great and the game is awesome so far.

I bumped into one of your fellas in a DM server, when I left I managed to run into another one on a different server yesterday. :O

somewhat, it's VERY laggy and you end up flying off. other players see you floating a few feet behind the vehicle. What were they thinking. :rolleyes:

wing walking works now, but you're super laggy and fall off :[ atleast you dont die

My fps is fine during normal play, it was at 50ish, drops to about 20-30 during something big though in a server with people. The fps was just from FRAPS recording.
